Emerging as a leader in the 8th century

Emerging as a leader in the 8th century

For some significant leaders coming into power is a struggle, thankfully I was born in one of the most prejudice families  in france in 742, being the son of king pepin the short and the grandson of Charles martel, both great emperors. When my father died the 24th of September 768, only 58 years old, me and my brother were the successors of  his regiments. Divided into two realms, I became a young king of  the smallest part of the kingdom, and fairly shared the other half with my brother carloman, which later on betrayed me by denying me protection against an uprising in aquitaine. Just before we decided war in 771, my brother died and left me the emperor of the whole kingdom.

My ruling years were from 768 to 814 , I conquered many tribes such as the lombards and the Avars, and became king of a tribe called the "Franks" in 768, which was located in modern day western germany and around belgium and france.  I also was a victorious ruler of the west for 14 years and proudly crowned leader of the romans in 800 by Pope Leo third.
